Schedule

Don't forget, you can bring your child in for a free trial class.  They won't need a uniform, just a comfortable t-shirt and sweat pants.  Be prepared for some serious FUN!

All classes run 50 minutes.   Please arrive on time for your class.  We respect the value of your time, so we plan to start and end class on time.  You must supervise your own child before and after class.

Aikido Kids!® no longer offers classes with the City of Sammamish.  Our downtown Redmond location however, is still convenient both to Sammamish and Issaquah city residents.

You’ll need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader® to open the schedule. If you don't already have it, you can download it for free by clicking on the button to the left.

Classes

TO REGISTER for any class please call our office at (206)605-3068 and pre-register for your preferred class.   We will be able to tell you right away if there are still spaces available in that class.

To hold your spot, you will need to visit the school within 24 hours, during our regularly scheduled office hours (11:30am-1:20pm, Monday thru Friday, or by appointment), to fill out the registration paperwork, and pay for the class.  Instructors will not be available to help with registration during scheduled class times.

Beginners

We accept beginning students of any age from 4 years to 17 years.  Students may attend one or more days of classes each week.   Each class lasts 50 minutes.

Intermediate

Students must have the rank of yellow belt or above in order to attend Intermediate level classes.

Open

These classes are open to students of all skill levels, including beginning students.   We find that many beginners older than age 10 prefer to attend Open classes over Beginner classes.

Testing

All students participate in a skills test once a month, and are eligible to receive a new belt (a promotion) after participating in 3 skills tests.    Students must be able to retain and demonstrate the skills they have studied at the promotion ceremony.   Aikido is a very challenging martial art, and students should expect to study for 8 to 10 years before being ready to test for a black belt.
